Depression

Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. Also called major depression, major depressive disorder or clinical depression, it affects how you feel, think and behave and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. You may have trouble doing normal day-to-day activities, and depression may make you feel as if life isn't worth living.

Depression is one of the most common reasons people seek therapy, and it is highly treatable.  The aim of counselling is to help you to understand your illness and its triggers. I can work with you to uncover and explore the underlying reasons that have contributed to symptoms of depression, whilst helping you to change your feelings and learn to manage them more effectively. I can also address any issues such as low self-esteem, relationship issues or persistent negative thinking that may be exacerbating the illness.
